There was a time in my life when I chose a tarot or oracle card every morning, seeking guidance from the Universe about how my day would unfold. Sometimes I chose two or three cards from different decks, then compared them to see if there was a common theme.

At the end of the day, I’d often forget to look at the card(s) to see how accurate it/they had been. But usually it didn’t matter, because the morning ritual was just my way of connecting with Spirit and flexing my intuitive muscles.

Today happens to be a New Moon in the lunar cycle, which is a good time to plant “seeds,” e.g., start a new project or set new goals. So I picked a card from the Medicine Cards deck (Jamie Sams & David Carson) to find out what kind of energy will support any new endeavors.

I chose the Bat, whose key word is “rebirth.” Here’s what the deck’s creators say about the Bat: “This [card] can mean a time of letting go of old habits, and . . . signals rebirth of some part of yourself or the death of old patterns.”

Since I just did a personal clearing two days ago, specifically to let go of old habits that no longer serve me, choosing the Bat was great validation that I’m in sync with the Universe.

Also, the Chinese consider the bat a symbol of good luck because the word for bat is a homonym for good fortune. So I’m really on the right track.  😊
